Asian handicap is a form of betting that eliminates the draw outcome by applying a goal handicap to one team. It originated in Asian betting markets and offers more balanced odds and the possibility of refunds (pushes) on certain outcomes.

Quarter handicaps (0.25, 0.75, 1.25, etc.) split your bet equally between two adjacent handicap lines. For example, -0.75 means half your stake goes on -0.5 and half on -1.0. This can result in a half-win or half-loss.

A push occurs on whole number handicaps when the adjusted score is exactly even. Your full stake is refunded. For quarter handicaps, one half may push while the other wins or loses, resulting in a partial return.

A negative handicap (e.g., -1.5) means the team needs to win by more than that margin. A positive handicap (e.g., +1.5) means the team can lose by less than that margin and still win. Zero handicap (0) is ‘Draw No Bet’ — a draw refunds your stake.
